Giants' Calvin Austin III Out for Season With Torn ACL
The offseason free-agent addition from Pittsburgh had been a frequent target for Jaxson Dart before the non-contact injury in a route-running drill.
New York Giants receiver Calvin Austin III was carted off Tuesday's practice with a right knee injury suffered on a non-contact play during a one-on-one route-running drill against cornerback Deonte Banks.
How serious is it?
A source confirmed Austin tore his right ACL, ending his 2026 season. He'd been having a strong camp and had 2 catches for 24 yards in the preseason game at Miami, becoming one of quarterback Jaxson Dart's frequent targets.
What's his role with the Giants?
Austin, 27, signed with New York as a free agent this offseason after spending his first four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was slated as the Giants' slot receiver. Braxton Berrios has taken over first-team slot reps in his absence.
