Will he play in the opener?
It's possible. The Titans said they look forward to Gray "returning to the field soon and in full health when he clears the NFL's concussion protocol." He can be cleared for Sunday's opener against the Jets if he passes evaluation by an independent neurological consultant and the team physician.
Why does it matter?
Gray started all 16 games he played last season and led Tennessee with 164 tackles. No police report, citation or legal proceeding has been reported in connection with the accident.
