Patriots running back who closed 2025 strong after splitting the backfield with rookie TreVeyon Henderson.
Rhamondre Stevenson remains a cornerstone of New England's run game, a physical back who also contributes heavily as a receiver. A midseason toe injury cost him time in 2025, but he finished with a flourish and helped power a playoff run.
Path to the league
Stevenson played his college ball at Oklahoma before the Patriots selected him in the fourth round, 120th overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft, per his Wikipedia profile. He quickly outplayed his draft slot and became a workhorse in New England's offense, valued for his balance, contact balance and pass-catching.
Career highlights
Stevenson has been one of the Patriots' most reliable offensive players, capable of carrying a heavy load and chipping in through the air. In 2025 he was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after a three-touchdown performance in a 38-10 win over Miami in Week 18, per Wikipedia.
2025 season
Stevenson opened 2025 as the starter, suffered a toe injury in Week 8 and missed three games while rookie TreVeyon Henderson stepped in, leading to a shared workload down the stretch, per Wikipedia. He finished with 603 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns, then added 128 yards in a Wild Card matchup with the Chargers.
