7 scores Week 4: Dolphins Visit Unbeaten Vikings With Achane and Jefferson Both Hurt
Read the full recap →The Miami Dolphins visit the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, October 4. Minnesota is 3-0 after a 23-16 win at Tampa Bay in Kyler Murray's return; Justin Jefferson has a left ankle sprain and could play, and the Vikings traded J.J. McCarthy to the Giants on Monday. Miami is 0-3 after a 24-10 loss to Kansas City in which De'Von Achane injured his knee on the opening drive and Malik Willis threw for 210 yards. Thursday update: Achane tore his ACL and is on injured reserve; Ollie Gordon leads Miami's backfield. Friday update: Jefferson was ruled out. The pick holds, as stated.
Jefferson's ankle
Kevin O'Connell says he avoided anything long term; Minnesota had seven first downs after he left.
Achane's knee
Miami has not announced a timeline for its best offensive player.
Brian Flores against his former team
The Vikings' defense has allowed 41 points in three games.

How the prediction did
Predicted 13-27 (Dolphins vs Vikings), final was 10-15. Right winner, but nowhere near the 14-point projection for a High-confidence pick. Without Justin Jefferson, Minnesota did not score a touchdown and won on five Will Reichard field goals. Kyler Murray completed 27 of 37 passes, 13 of them to T.J. Hockenson, and the Vikings held the ball for 39 minutes and Miami to 198 yards. The pick was said to hold with or without Jefferson, and it did, narrowly.
Dolphins Vikings Minnesota's defense against the league's lowest-scoring offense
Miami has 36 points in three games.
The Vikings win without style
Three wins by an average of 10 with a defense that travels and now plays at home.
Jefferson's status limits the ceiling
Without him Minnesota's offense stalled, which keeps the projection at 27.
A High-confidence home lean that holds with or without Jefferson.
