How the prediction did
Predicted 17-27 (Commanders vs 49ers), final was 17-23. Right winner, with the margin off by 4. San Francisco led 20-3 at halftime and Christian McCaffrey scored twice, then held off a Washington rally in which Jayden Daniels threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns. The 49ers are 6-0 but lost Mike Evans to Achilles soreness, and Washington lost Terry McLaurin for the season. Week 6 closes at 8 of 14.
Commanders 49ers Brock Purdy against the league's second-worst defense
Thirteen touchdown passes in five games.
Washington has not held anyone under 24 since Week 1
The Commanders' defense is why this is a 10-point projection.
San Francisco's injuries could matter against Daniels' legs
A thinned defense without Greenlaw against a running quarterback is the Commanders' path.
A High-confidence home lean to close the week.
