Miami Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis led a 14-play, 93-yard touchdown drive on his only series of Thursday's preseason game, while Washington Commanders backup Marcus Mariota left after just four plays with a leg injury in the Commanders' 20-7 win.

Willis completed 4 of 5 passes for 43 yards and added 9 rushing yards on two carries. The highlight was a 28-yard one-handed catch by rookie receiver Caleb Douglas over cornerback Antonio Hamilton Sr.
What happened to Mariota?
Mariota, who started the game for Washington, went down on a non-contact play while handing off to running back Kaytron Allen. He walked off the field under his own power and was evaluated in the blue medical tent. No diagnosis or timetable had been announced as of Friday.

Mariota suffered a sprained right MCL, sources told ESPN, and is expected to miss the rest of the preseason. Coach Dan Quinn said the team is targeting Washington's Sept. 13 regular-season opener at Philadelphia for his return: "We're optimistic he'll be ready at that time." Behind starter Jayden Daniels, the Commanders' only other quarterbacks on the roster are Sam Hartman and rookie Athan Kaliakmanis, and Quinn said Washington isn't currently planning to bring in outside help at the position.
