Malik Nabers Returns to Giants Practice for First Time Since Knee Surgery

Simply being back on the practice field is a meaningful marker after an injury that required more than one procedure. It doesn't mean Nabers is ready for game reps, but it puts him on a visible track toward a return.

Veteran Odell Beckham Jr. has been making a case for a roster spot with highlight plays in camp, including a leaping touchdown grab from Jameis Winston, while Braxton Berrios has also stood out in a crowded group. Both give the Giants options while Nabers continues to ramp up.

The team hasn't put a firm timetable on when he'll return to full team drills. His continued presence at practice, even in a limited role, is the clearest sign yet that a return this season remains realistic.
How did his first live drills go?
Nabers took part in his first full-speed live drills since the injury, which included a Week 4, 2025 ACL and meniscus tear repaired that October, plus a follow-up 2026 procedure to remove scar tissue and address stiffness. "It was good, felt good. Felt good getting some team reps, getting out there, catching the football," he said. "My soul has been dead for so long just being away from the game. So, just getting out there and having my teammates behind me kind of felt that soul come back to life out there." Coach John Harbaugh said he's "praying" Nabers is ready for the Week 1 opener against Dallas on Sept. 13 but wouldn't guarantee it: "You really can't say. You can hope."
