Jaguars Activate OT Cole Van Lanen From PUP List
The lineman, who signed a three-year, $51 million extension last season before a Week 18 knee injury, now projects to compete for the starting right tackle job after Jacksonville shifted Anton Harrison to left tackle.
The Jacksonville Jaguars activated offensive tackle Cole Van Lanen off the physically unable to perform list, clearing him to practice after he opened training camp there recovering from a knee injury suffered in last season's Week 18 finale against Buffalo.
What's his contract situation?
Van Lanen signed a three-year, $51 million extension with $32.5 million guaranteed just before the injury last season, when he was ticketed to start at left tackle.
What's his role now?
With Jacksonville having since moved Anton Harrison to left tackle, Van Lanen now projects to compete for the starting right tackle job or serve as a swing tackle. The team also waived offensive lineman Timothy McKay as a corresponding roster move.
