Tennessee Titans quarterback and 2025 top overall pick entering his second NFL season with a new deep threat in Carnell Tate.
Cam Ward was the first pick of the 2025 NFL Draft and started from day one in Tennessee. Now in his second season, Ward enters OTAs with the Titans' most significant offensive addition since his own arrival: wide receiver Carnell Tate, taken fourth overall in 2026 to give Ward a downfield weapon the offense lacked in year one.
Path to the league
Selected first overall by Tennessee in the 2025 NFL Draft. Stepped into Brian Daboll's offense as a rookie starter with limited veteran support at receiver. The Titans finished below league average in 40-plus-yard passing plays in 2025.
2026 outlook
Enters year two with a full offseason in Daboll's system and a genuine deep threat for the first time in Carnell Tate. At OTAs, Ward praised Tate's hands and man-coverage ability, calling Tennessee 'one of the best offenses he could be in.' The combination of a second-year quarterback and a No. 4 overall receiver gives the Titans their clearest offensive identity since Ward arrived.
