A former Florida All-American who led the NFL in field-goal percentage in 2025 while kicking for San Francisco.

Eddy Pineiro has bounced through several NFL stops since going undrafted in 2018, but 2025 was the best statistical season of his career. The Miami native and ex-Florida Gator has become one of the more accurate kickers in the league.

Path to the league

Pineiro played two seasons at Florida (2016-2017), converting 38 of 43 field-goal attempts for an 88.4 percent success rate, the best mark in program history, and earned two-time All-SEC and AP All-American recognition. He signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and has since played for the Bears, Jets, Colts, Commanders, Panthers and 49ers.

Career highlights

Pineiro's best stretch before 2025 came with Carolina, where he made 33 of 35 field goals (94.3 percent) in 2022 and converted better than 90 percent of his attempts over his final two seasons with the Panthers. He signed with San Francisco in 2025 to replace Jake Moody.

Pineiro led the NFL in field-goal percentage in 2025, converting 28 of 29 attempts (96.6 percent) for the 49ers, including opening the season by making his first 25 consecutive kicks. He went 6 of 7 from 50-plus yards, hitting a career-long 59-yarder, the second-longest field goal in franchise history.
