Known as 'Money Mac' for his clutch playoff kicking, Evan McPherson owns the NFL record for most field goals made in a single postseason.

Evan McPherson made his name in his very first NFL postseason, drilling kick after kick as Cincinnati made an unlikely run to the Super Bowl. Since then he has settled in as one of the more dependable placekickers in franchise history, bouncing back from a rough 2024 with a career-best 2025 season. His leg and his composure under pressure remain the defining traits of his game.

Path to the league

McPherson kicked for the Florida Gators from 2018-2020, making 51 of 60 field goals and 149 of 150 extra points while helping the Gators to a 29-9 record and an Orange Bowl win. He left Florida with the SEC's career field goal percentage record and was the only kicker selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, going to Cincinnati in the fifth round.

Career highlights

McPherson earned the nickname "Money Mac" during Cincinnati's 2021 postseason run to Super Bowl LVI, setting the NFL record for most field goals made in a single postseason with 14. He owns the fourth-highest career field goal percentage in Bengals franchise history and has the most made field goals of 50-plus yards in team history.

2025 season recap

McPherson bounced back from a career-low 72.7 percent field goal rate in 2024 to post a career-high 89.3 percent in 2025, converting 25 of 28 attempts. He drilled a 63-yard field goal at the half, a new career long, and was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for a Week 13 win at Baltimore.
