Ja'Marr Chase

Wide Receiver · LSU

2024 receiving triple crown winner, the youngest to do it since Don Hutson in 1936.

Ja'Marr Chase's 2024 season was the most dominant individual receiving year of the modern era. 127 catches, 1,708 yards, 17 touchdowns, all NFL-leading. He became the fifth player in the Super Bowl era to win the receiving triple crown, and the youngest receiver in 88 years to claim it. The 2025 follow-up was quieter, mostly because Joe Burrow tore through his big toe in Week 2.

Path to the league

LSU's third overall pick in 2021 after winning the Biletnikoff Award as a sophomore and a national title alongside Joe Burrow. Opted out of the 2020 college season due to COVID concerns. The Bengals reunited him with Burrow at pick five. Caught a 50-yard touchdown in his first preseason game and never slowed down.

Career highlights

2024 receiving triple crown winner (catches, yards, TDs). 2024 first-team All-Pro. Four-time Pro Bowler. Set Bengals single-season records for catches (127) and receiving yards (1,708) in 2024. Tied the franchise touchdown record (17) set by Carl Pickens in 1995. First player in NFL history with 1,700-plus yards and 17-plus touchdowns in the same season.

2025 season recap

98 receptions for 1,302 yards and 12 touchdowns despite Burrow missing most of the season after a Week 2 toe injury. Chase signed a record extension on March 11, 2025 (four years, $161 million, with $112 million guaranteed) that made him the highest-paid non-QB at signing. Bengals finished 6-11.

What to watch in 2026

A healthy Burrow plus a fully realized Tee Higgins return makes Cincinnati's passing game a near-impossible cover. Chase is 26 in March and the contract structure keeps him in Cincinnati through 2029. The bet is whether the Bengals can build a defense around their offensive trio fast enough to capture their championship window.
