Seventh-round Oregon rookie who carved out a role in Tampa Bay's banged-up receiving corps in 2025.
Tez Johnson was the Buccaneers' seventh-round pick in the 2025 draft after a productive college career at Troy and Oregon. With injuries thinning Tampa Bay's wide receiver room, the rookie found playing time and produced as a rotational option. He finished his debut season with five touchdowns.
Path to the league
Johnson began his college career at Troy before transferring to Oregon, where he became a Second-team All-Big Ten selection and Big Ten Championship Game MVP. He closed his college career with 310 receptions for 3,889 yards and 28 touchdowns and was selected 235th overall by Tampa Bay in 2025.
2025 season
Per team and league reporting, Johnson averaged 11.5 yards per reception for 322 receiving yards and scored five touchdowns as a rookie. With the Buccaneers dealing with a string of receiver injuries, the seventh-round pick emerged as a contributor in the passing game.
