10 scores Week 7: Buccaneers Visit Panthers With Baker Mayfield's Return Uncertain
Read the full recap →The Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, October 25. Carolina is 3-2 after a 25-14 win at Philadelphia in which Chuba Hubbard ran for 120 yards and the Panthers did not turn the ball over. Tampa Bay is 1-5 after a 26-19 overtime loss to Pittsburgh in which Jalon Daniels threw two interceptions; Baker Mayfield, out three games with a dislocated thumb, is being evaluated this week. Wednesday update: Baker Mayfield practiced in full, and Todd Bowles will decide Friday whether he starts. A Mayfield start would narrow this pick. Friday update: Baker Mayfield returns, while Emeka Egbuka (concussion), Luke Goedeke (calf) and Antoine Winfield Jr. (ribs) are out.
Mayfield or Daniels
Tampa Bay has scored 19 or fewer in four of six games.
Carolina's run game

A division game
Carolina beat Atlanta by 31 in the other one.
Pregame AI Prediction
How the prediction did
Predicted 21-24 (Buccaneers vs Panthers), final was 43-13. Miss, and badly. Saturday's update narrowed this to 57 percent when Baker Mayfield returned, but Tampa Bay led 33-6 at halftime, forced four Carolina turnovers and held the ball for 36 minutes. Mayfield threw only 11 passes; Bucky Irving ran for 106 yards and two touchdowns.
Buccaneers Panthers Carolina has the better quarterback this week unless Mayfield returns
Bryce Young has not thrown an interception in his past two games.
Tampa Bay's defense keeps games close
All six Tampa Bay games have been decided by eight points or fewer.
Mayfield's status could change the pick
A cleared Mayfield would cut this to a field goal.
Updated Saturday: Baker Mayfield returns for Tampa Bay, which narrows this from 63 to 57 percent; the Buccaneers are without receiver Emeka Egbuka, right tackle Luke Goedeke and safety Antoine Winfield Jr.
